OralStarX Terms of Use

Version 2026-09-22 · Last updated 22 September 2026

About these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and KidsX, a company based in Singapore, for your use of the OralStarX app on iOS, Android and the web. By creating an account or using the app you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use OralStarX.

How we handle personal data is set out separately in the OralStarX Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

Who may hold an account

The account holder must be an adult who is the learner’s parent or legal guardian. A learner never holds an account of their own. When you register you confirm that you are the learner’s parent or legal guardian, that you provide the learner’s details and recordings on their behalf, and that the information you give us is accurate and kept up to date.

You are responsible for everything done through your account, including practice sessions you run with the learner and purchases you make.

Your account and its security

Keep your password private and do not share your account with anyone outside your household. Tell us at once if you think someone else has used your account. We may ask you to verify your email address with a code before certain actions, such as registering, resetting a password or deleting the account.

Oral practice recordings

OralStarX records the learner’s voice when a practice attempt is started. Recordings are sent to our servers and stored and processed to create transcripts, scores, feedback and progress reports. This includes sending audio to a speech-recognition service and sending the transcript to AI language-model services, some of which operate outside Singapore. By starting an attempt you consent to this on the learner’s behalf.

Recordings are kept on our servers for up to 90 days. Transcripts, scores and reports stay in your account until you delete it. Recordings saved on your device stay there until you uninstall the app. The Privacy Policy has the full details.

Automated evaluation

Assessment results are generated with automated tools, including AI language models. They support practice and learning only. They are not official school or examination results, they do not predict any examination outcome, and they may contain errors. Do not rely on them as the sole basis for decisions about the learner’s education.

Privacy and account data

We use parent, learner, transaction and practice information to operate the service, protect accounts, provide reports and improve product quality. Access is limited to authorised purposes and authorised staff. We never use it for advertising. See the Privacy Policy for what we collect, who processes it and how long we keep it.

Packages, attempts and payments

Practice attempts are paid for with credits. We may give new accounts a small number of free credits. Paid packages, subscriptions, redemption codes and attempt balances are subject to the details shown at checkout, including the price, the number of attempts and any expiry. Those details form part of your purchase.

Purchases on the web are processed by Stripe. Purchases inside the iOS or Android app are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play under their own terms, and any refund request for those purchases must go through the store. Prices may change; a change never affects a package you have already bought.

Used attempts and completed digital services are generally not refundable. If you believe something went wrong with a purchase or an attempt, contact us and we will look into it.

Acceptable use

You must not:

  • misuse the service or use it for anything unlawful
  • submit unlawful, abusive or harmful content, whether in recordings, feedback or anywhere else
  • interfere with other accounts or with other people’s use
  • attempt to bypass payment, security or usage controls, including credit limits and rate limits
  • copy, scrape or redistribute practice questions, reports or other content at scale
  • share a report link in a way that exposes the learner to people who should not see it

Sharing features

You can create a public link to a report and an invite link for other parents. Anyone who has a report link can open that report without signing in, and the invite page shows the learner’s nickname. You decide whom to share these with, and you are responsible for that choice. You can ask us to withdraw a report link at any time.

Content and intellectual property

The OralStarX app, its practice questions, scoring, reports and design belong to KidsX. You may use them only for the learner’s own practice. You keep your rights in the recordings and other material you submit, and you give us permission to store, process and share it with our service providers as far as needed to run the service, as described in the Privacy Policy.

Changes to the service and these terms

OralStarX is an evolving product. We may add, change or remove features, practice content and packages. We may also update these terms; the version and date at the top of this page tell you which edition applies. If a change is material, we will tell you by email to your registered address before it takes effect, and update the version and date on this page. Continuing to use the app after that means you accept the updated terms.

Ending your use

You can stop using OralStarX at any time and delete your account in the app or by emailing us; see the data deletion page. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, that is used by someone who is not an adult parent or guardian, or where we must do so to protect the service or comply with the law. Where we close an account for a breach, unused credits are not refunded.

Liability

We provide OralStarX with reasonable care and skill, but we do not promise that it will always be available, error-free or that any score is accurate. To the extent Singapore law allows, KidsX is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for decisions made on the basis of automated results. Our total liability to you for all claims under these terms is limited to the amount you paid us for OralStarX in the twelve months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, such as liability for fraud.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, and the courts of Singapore have jurisdiction over any dispute about them.

Your choices

You may contact us about your information, ask us to correct or delete it, or stop using the service at any time. Some records may be retained where required for security, transactions or legal obligations, as set out in the Privacy Policy.
